Just found out that currently one of the (if not THE) best file manager for Mac is on sale. And what a price reduction – normally sold for 20 Bucks, now you can get it for 1!
I am using ForkLift for years now and I never regretted my purchase, even though I paid the original price.
The Application has a real lot of features that makes it so much more than just a Finder replacement. I don’t want to parrot all the things you can do with ForkLift here – they can be found on the App Store page.
My favorite properties:
– Dual-pane, tabbed file management
In my opinion a tree-based and/or single-pane file manager will never be able to keep up with a dual-pane one. That’s why I used dual-pane file managers as long as I can think of.
– Connect to remote filesystems
ForkLift supports a plethora of file-transfer-protocols (like FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, Amazon S3, iDisk, SMB, AFP, NIS). You can use connected remote filesystems like they would be local (like editing a remote text file or copy stuff to/from them).
– Integrate additional tools to work with the two panes
In my ForkLift I integrated VisualDiffer so I can compare directories in deep (the Folder Sync included in ForkLift is nice, but I need a little bit more “comparison-power” here).
If you haven’t Forklift on your system yet, this is the opportunity to get it for a fantastic price!
